Seattle Birth Doula

What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional and informational support before, during and after birth, including continuous labor support. It’s my mission to help birthing people feel empowered and confident.

As a doula it's important to me to respect each client's individual values and goals. To help them see the support and tools they have around them. I will spend time during prenatal visits getting to know you, partners, other supporters, and establish a plan that feels right for you.

Many people in my life have expressed to me that they didn’t know their options. That they wish they had someone at their birth to help them understand what was happening and what choices they have. They come to me looking for someone to hear and hold them in their feelings and know they aren’t alone.

I want to help people trust themselves as they birth their baby into the world and to continue self trust and confidence into parenthood. I will provide them space to go within when necessary and also step in to remind them of their power, breath and strength.

I am your advocate, guide to comfort and calm, and a bridge to resources.

I am here to help amplify your voice and help you feel heard.

I am not here to diagnose, treat or offer medical advice to clients.

Meet Kim

I moved to Seattle, Washington in June 2021 from Chicago, Illinois and have a background in infant child care, prenatal yoga, and essential oil education.

My husband and I have a corgi pup named Pancake who we love going on hikes with. I also love yoga, walks to the lake or nearby parks, taking care of my plant babies, reading, and making my own candles.

Testimonials:

Prenatal Yoga

“Thank you again for all the hours of yoga!! I really think they helped during labor and delivery! You were so helpful and I look forward to when I can start practicing again. I went into labor not long after our class last week, so I think it was doing something!” (Prenatal Yoga Student December 2020)

“I am so lucky to have you as a teacher and so grateful you get to share this gift with others.

Such a calming presence during a crazy period of life. Plus getting to work my mind and body.

It’s just an all around win!” (Prenatal Yoga Student 2021)

Post-Partum & Beyond

“I’m so grateful for you and you’ve helped make this transition with a new life in the mix so much easier.” - Maegan

Kim has been with us almost a year as a full-time nanny and has a strong interest in caring for others. I truly think she will be a spectacular Doula.

As a nanny, she has been kind, intuitive, attentive and adaptable. We have two very different children and she's been able to 'read them' appropriately and I think she will transfer this ability to the peri-birth time very well. If our kids are playing independently, without being asked, she picks up on other 'household' chores.

She comes into the house with a very calming presence and continues to stay steady throughout busy mornings, trying to get two kids out of the house to two different schools. I've never seen her panicked or lose her temper.” - Laura
